The Ukraine

In the last three months protesters have been ravaging Independence Square in Ukraine. The protesters are upset by their president not signing the pact so they could join the European Union, this pact would have generated economic growth by forming political ties to other nations and would have set the stage for modernization. These protests have turned violent and the government has ordered the military to take violent action against the protesters so vacationing here could possibly get someone hurt. Any Carnival Cruise

Going on a cruise to the Bahamas, or through the Gulf of Mexico is the dream of many, but one should not attempt to fulfill that dream on a Carnival Cruise any time soon. While the company has been very successful and trustworthy in the past they no longer can provide their customers with the safety they still promise. For the past year the so called 'luxury' cruise liners have been been having mechanical failures and fires while at sea with passengers on board. The most serious mishap left passengers stranded in the middle of the ocean for five days with no air conditioning and toilets backing up and seeping raw sewage throughout the floors and walls of the Carnival Cruise Ship. This year of mishaps did get the company to replace their CEO with one calling for millions of dollars worth of repairs, but as of right now it would be safer for everyone to hold on to their hard earned cash or find a different cruise company to have an adventure with. Linfen, China

Linfen, China has been named the single most polluted city in the world. The city is located in the center of the Shanxi Province and is a city of factories and coal mines. The factories don't meet the same regulations set by U.S standards, they don't even meet the much lower pollution standards set by the Chinese government, and the city is in the middle of a basin which doesn't allow the pollution to disperse. These factories not only pollute the air but the water as well and the people of Linfen depend on that very water to live. Linfen has virtually no tourism and ever since it was named the most polluted city, many of it's residents have left, but a majority are unable to leave as they are family farmers without the means to leave. But with the need for work many live in the city just for the jobs in the factories. But it hasn't always been this way, just twenty years ago Linfen was named the fruit of China and was a city based on agriculture, so much has changed and now the only people that visit Linfen are the people who drive the coal trucks, and if you enjoy having healthy lungs I advise you to stay out of this very polluted Chinese city. Stanley Hotel

If you've ever went on a vacation odd's are you've stayed in a hotel. It's almost a given that a vacation means a hotel stay. Well one hotel you should keep off your Possible Stay List is the Stanley Hotel in Estes Park, Colorado. While this hotel is widely known for it's architecture, it is more widely known for its paranormal happenings. This hotel has been named one of America's most haunted hotels and was the inspiration for Stephen King's "The Shining".  Even if you don't believe in this, would you really want to stay in the very place that inspired Stephen King? If you would, you can learn how to stay in the very room King himself stayed in HERE.

Ghetto Tours

These tours take place in the slums of Rio de Janeiro, you would go on a 'favela tour' and you would spend 2-3 hours and a couple hundred dollars to drive around and look at graffiti. Not only would you be looking at illegal street 'art' but many tours are not ran by reputable companies and instead are ran by the drug lords that run their empires in these very same slums and instead of being guarded by police you be 'guarded' by the drug lord's minions. So, all-in-all, if you want to see some graffiti just look up some pictures online, it's safer, you don't waste gas, and there isn't a chance of you coming into contact with anyone who works for a drug lord. Alnwick Castle's Poison Garden

I think the name says it all, am I right? (Yes I am) This garden is placed in the country nearly every American yearns to visit, England.  The garden is in Alnwick Castle, the most iconic castle in Great Britain! While the castle and it's infamous Poison Garden are closed for the winter and are scheduled to reopen late March 2014 I wouldn't be planning any family trips there for the spring. At that time the poisonous plants would be in full bloom and you and your family would be at the mercy of plants who carry poisons such as Strychnine, Hemlock (this is what killed Socrates) and even Castor Oil. Considering a drop of Castor Oil could kill an adult this "get away" is only for the braves our there who have hundreds of antidotes at the 'drop' of a hat.
